OILY SKIN
We would hope it never gets this bad but oily skin can be no fun to deal with, often looking dull and shiny. Hormones, diet, skin care and genetic makeup all play a role in the body’s production of oil. Some people get occasional oiliness whereas others suffer more chronic symptoms as the sebaceous glands become overactive and produce more oil than the skin needs – therefore becoming more prone to outbreaks.
How to care for oily skin…
- Cleanse the skin gently morning and night to gently lift the excess sebum and impurities from the skin.
- Use a sunscreen that is oil free and non-comodegenic.
- Include recommended amounts of protein, leafy green vegetables, fresh fruit and drinking water in your diet.
What to avoid…
- High levels of sugars and fat in the diet, highly refined foods and excess alcohol.
- Smoking – it increases pore size.
- Harsh cleansers that strip the skin of its natural oils – forcing it to produce greater amounts of oil to compensate. These cleansers can also cause the skin to become irritated and sensitive.
Benefits of using the skinsaviour skin cream and cleanser…
- Unless your sebaceous glands are really in overdrive, our skin cream is ideal for oily skin.
- Our cleanser will thoroughly cleanse oily skin but not irritate. Rinse it away with warm water to avoid leaving any residue and pat dry.
- Our skin cream is designed to be non-comodegenic which means it will not block pores.
- Our cleanser contains no soap or alcohol, which strip away natural oils. For very oily skin, patting witchazel gently on the skin after cleansing may also help.
“Just some feedback after about three weeks of using your product. As I discussed with you I can have some redness and sensitivity with my skin. I have had ZERO problems with this product – (FANTASTIC!), and even though I have slightly oily skin, I think it’s great that your product has a rich texture but penetrates with little or no visible residue. One of my friends is a beauty therapist, and she commented on how good my skin looked recently.”
